Don’t miss the opportunity to hear author and educator Mary Virginia Swanson at our next ASMP Tucson event on Wednesday, November 15. Space is limited and RSVP is required.
Be sure to park either at the curbs immediately adjacent to the studio, parallel to the white pylons on the east side of Arizona Ave. (not in the paved lot) or in the dirt parking lot due east of the studio behind the house next door. All other curbs are neighborhood permit parking only and enforced 24 hours a day.

ASMP Tucson member Steven Meckler is teaching a two-day photography workshop on November 4th and 5th, 2017. If interested, please follow the link for more information and to register.
http://www.mecklerphotography.com/seminar
As listed in the course description: “This is an intermediate through advanced photo course in a weekend for those who know how to use their camera and want to get the most out of it.”
As such, it may not be appropriate for ASMP general members, but it would behoove ASMP student level members, or serious photo hobbyists our members may know, to take this course.
Also from the course description:
Some of what you will learn:
√ Lighting: Best uses of different light sources on location and in the studio. Hard, soft and in between.
√ Quality of light – brightness, contrast & color (type of light, white balance and time of day).
√ Composition: balance, line, shape, texture, repetition, symmetry, etc.
√ Prospective [sic]: making 3-dimensions in a 2-dimensional medium
√ Storytelling: with a single photo or multiple photos
√ The importance of intent and communicating your ideas
√ Effective use of foreground, mid-ground and background
√ Workflow – Camera, preproduction, production, post production, computer applications, delivery and archiving
√ Lens choices
