Get Your DAM Stuff Together!
A Seminar with Peter Krogh on Digital Asset Management
Peter Krogh presents an integrated Digital Asset Management workflow, based on the principles of The DAM Book, Digital Asset Management for Photographers (O'Reilly, 2005). The program is split into two parts: a Friday evening lecture to a large group, followed by an all-day Saturday workshop for no more than 20 people.
Friday Evening Seminar
The evening program is a lecture-format presentation of the principles of digital asset management. This session can be taken as a stand-alone presentation. Peter outlines how you can:
- Create and use metadata
- Setup naming conventions
- Configure and implement affordable hardware solutions
- Adjust your images efficiently
- Use cataloging software to organize and proof your images
- Make Adobe Bridge and iView MediaPro work together to streamline your image processing work.
Due to the volume of material covered, the seminar offers a very limited opportunity to ask questions about the presentation.
All-day Saturday Workshop
Held the following day, March 24, the Saturday Workshop has limited seating. The evening seminar is a prerequisite and is included in the registration fee. For details, see the ASMP Workshop page and the ASMP Tucson DAM Workshop Page.

Preparation for the Workshop
All of the material that will be presented is contained in the instructor's book, The DAM Book. You might find that you have a good head start on the concepts presented by reading the book. Here's a sample chapter. And here's an article on a related topic, using DNG in camera-raw workflows. Feel free to post questions on theDAMbook Forum.
